So delighted to have been nominated for an RTE Radio1 Folk Award in the best emerging artist category. Thanks very much to RTE Radio1 and all the radio shows that have supported my music. It is so appreciated! The awards ceremony is this Thursday 17th Nov in Vicar Street, Dublin. Wish me luck!
I’m delighted to share a live session I recorded earlier this year in the historic Armagh Gaol.
Armagh Gaol was built in the 1700’s and was Ulster’s main Women’s prison. The last female inmates were imprisoned here in the 1980’s. The gaol is permanently closed with no access to the public. It has a fascinating and sad history which I urge you to read about. It was a real honour to be allowed in to do something creative. Huge thanks to Amberlea Neely, Roisin Fee, Brian Johnston, Gregory Wilson and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for allowing access.
Thankyou also to Joe Laverty of the Whisper Project for filming and editing, Stevie Lennox on sound and Zarah Fleming on Cello. It was a freezing day and i’m so grateful to everyone for helping create something beautiful. Check it out below.
